Aaliah Qureshi is a Pakistani visual artist who uses photography as a tool to explore themes of heritage, culture, roots and identity. Her work aims to reinvent the perception of South Asians within the Western media, showcasing more accurate and authentic visualisations of these groups. With her current work, she aims to delve deeper into her own family history, uncovering the relationship between her maternal grandparents, whilst investigating these connections between family and identity within the domestic space. Qureshi uses archival means, such as found objects, old photographs and written work, in order to piece together these memories and create an immersive place relating to comfort and home.
