BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
As a print designer, heavily influenced by colour and obscure free flowing shapes, my practice involves digital techniques combined with collage, primarily for use within the field of fashion. I explore abstraction through bold, contrasting colours and motifs that stem from fusing various themes and inspirations that captivate interest. The characteristics of my designs lead to unique compositions which encourage playfulness and bring an innovative, contemporary style to print design.
This particular body of work has been developed in response to previous collections, fulfilling an underlying theme: “Dopamine Dressing” - a current trend based on injecting joy into your wardrobe in the form of vibrant colours, dynamic prints and feel-good outfit choices. My designs aim to combat the need for new clothing and accessories every season by taking a resourceful and sustainable approach to fashion. The main concept behind my collection was to transform an ‘old’ outfit into something new, simply by adding an accessory to give an outfit a new lease of life!
