Predominantly working with 35mm film format photography, my work sets out to evoke an emotional response to social issues explored through narrative, portraiture and still life. Fueled by contemporary femininity, I have used this project to explore the complexities and frustrations which accompany being a woman. “I am what you made me” opens up a discussion about the severe effects the photographic male gaze has had on women and how we can combat patriarchal ideals of who a woman should be.
