BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
I am a textile designer focussing on the simplicity of pattern and line in the everyday, my inspiration comes from drawing my everyday surroundings in local parks and imagery from architecture in Manchester. Developing a range of textile finishes for interiors such as wallpaper and curtain fabrics, I take an ordinary line drawing and transform it into a complex yet simple design. An important aspect of my practice is to show the importance of place through noticing and distilling my daily surroundings into simple lines. I believe to appreciate a place is to notice it and by noticing it we change our perspective on the city and everyday daily life.
