My practice explores themes of the everyday, combining observations of my surroundings with elements of memory, imagination and personal narrative. These are recorded from afar and abstracted to create recollections of place, objects and people. Working with drawing, painting and printmaking, I enjoy experimenting with materials and imagery to combine areas of quiet and calm with the fleeting moments, whether they be observed on the train to and from Manchester, the city or my home surroundings. Applying a playful approach to drawing through the combination of materials and techniques is an important part of my practice, and something I hope to further explore and develop at postgraduate level.
