Peri Thomas
BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
As a Print Designer, my practice is underpinned by the research and communication of challenging concepts, through predominantly digital fashion and interior print designs. Within my practice I strive to acknowledge inclusivity and appropriation of conditions which challenge everyday people that may have not been considered fully within the fashion industry before. Within my final year I have focused my research on visual colour impairment which has informed my direction and perception of inclusive design. My design approach combines modern and traditional techniques where process is an important part of this. I use painting, hand drawing and mark making as a starting point for my designs before manipulating digitally. My work has developed and embraced new technologies such as 3D print for accessories for the fashion industry.
