‘Connect’ is a project based around the combination of harsh forms, materials and textures recognised within brutalism. Specifically responding to architecture within the UK that gave support during the social housing crisis in the 1950’s. It explores brutalism as not only an exterior form but by welcoming it within interiors. With fundamental features being scale, material, and depth. The project acting as the mediator between brutalism's negative stereotypes and the importance and beauty within it. The piece being based around the inspired uncalibrated tessellated tile. Whereby working with geometries as a form of Complex art. Re defining brutalism into a new category.
