BA (Hons) Interior Design
I am a passionate interior designer, who has taken an interest in sustainability within the design world, as well as how we can use spaces to impact a person in a positive way. My FMP project - referred to as Cocozza Wood Cookhouse focuses on how we can persuade those living within Manchester's Northern quarter to adopt healthy eating habits, especially those living alone. The space aims at tackling a number of social issues such as unhealthy eating habits, loneliness, and food waste by designing a zero-waste food store and cooking studio, where customers can conveniently pick up various food kits, learn how to cook as well as socialise with others, making it an enjoyable and memorable experience. Before customers commit to buying and cooking their food kits, they have the opportunity to visit the tasting cafe - a five-minute walk from Cocozza Wood Cookhouse. This emphasises the importance of minimizing food waste and maximizing experience where customers have the choice of being seated at the open kitchen counter where they can interact with the chefs and learn about the various dishes or they can sit at the long communal social table enjoying the company of other like-minded individuals or if they prefer a private dining experience with close friends or alone they have that option too by choosing to sit in the booth area.
