Traces

Positioned within the commercial sector, my practice primarily focusses on portraiture and fashion imagery. I have worked as a freelance photographer for several years, having previously studied music business and vocals prior to joining MMU for this course. While exploring marketing and pursuing a career in the music industry, I established my own client base (helping businesses and artists with their photography and social media content) and chose to undertake a master's degree to further advance both my skills and business. Over the past year, I have concentrated on networking, producing fashion editorials, and engaging in various creative projects, with the intention of continuing this trajectory.

'Traces' examiness themes of family dynamics, memory and the use of photography as a medium for connection and enquiry. Through photographing my half-brother and sister in their home with my father's camera and revisiting archived family photographs, I construct a narrative that reflects my personal experiences. This project is intrinsically linked to my life, visualising my emotional journey as a child of divorce and my upbringing within a non-traditional family unit.
