Back in Our Day
'Back in our Day’, by Casey Wilkinson, is a visual biography of her late grandad's life. In previous research she has delved into her family past after discovering a collection of over 1000 images of her grandad and family from the 1960 and 70s.
She has taken her grandad's images as inspiration. Taking a key interest into the era of the Mods and Rockers, the main theme will be through the portrayal of her grandad’s rocker lifestyle, through the mixing of new and old photographies. Looking at this time, Casey remembers and relates to her grandad and the era he grew up in. Thinking about how that may have shaped him into the man we see in her family archive.
As a photographer and visual creator from Manchester, Casey aims to captivate and inform through the use of documentary photography. Her work seeks to provoke curiosity, inviting viewers into new perspectives through a clear narrative.
