Chloe Yardley Hughes - BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
My practice combines traditional craft techniques and illustration. I would describe my work as a means of self expression through the curation of a character.
I work in both physical and digital mediums, collaging the texture of knit and pixel illustration in my digital and using a variety of physical, such as crochet, pen work, knit, duplicate stitch embroidery and more.
I'm also heavily influenced by clowns and jesters, both visually and as a concept. They are characters created and donned for the consumption of others, this is so intertwined with social perception and self expression, both of which are key themes in my work.
