Mixing an animated action scene in dolby atmos
I explored the use of dolby atmos in spatially mixing an animated action scene from the traditional stereo format. My work showcases how the use of vertical speakers and the 3D positioning of objects freely in space enhances storytelling by immersing it's viewer in the scene. I chose to use an animation because of it's hyper-real nature and it's non-conformity to real world scenarios, thereby allowing me to create environments for a virtual or unreal world. The flexible nature of my project gave me the opportunity to explore dolby atmos in ways traditional mixing techniques like 5.1, 7.1 surround and stereo cannot achieve.
