Lucy Leak - BA (Hons) Photography
Interference
In her work, Lucy investigates the intersection of nature and the manmade – how they interact, coexist, and enhance or damage each other. Her work strongly focuses on process, using a variety of materials and techniques to explore the relationship between the image and its physical form. She echoes the materiality of the image’s subjects with her choice of media. The images themselves explore the concept of nature as a sanctuary, focusing on the similarities in shape and form that are found in both rural and urban settings. She ties the two worlds together by finding evidence of human intervention within natural landscapes, looking at why we leave our mark on nature: whether it may be religious, sentimental, or purely functional.
