Silvana Zuluaga Gomez - MFA Performance
I am an actress and Theatre-maker from Cali, Colombia. Since 2020, my artistic practice has been focused on the actor's training and its potential for creation and research. I have been able to share my passion for movement in different academic backgrounds of my country. I’ve created work and taken active part of diverse Colombian theatre groups and companies, and tour my work in various national festivals.
In 2023, interested in deepening my training, I moved to Manchester and started my specialization in Laboratory Theatre. I am currently exploring how the actor’s training can serve as a vehicle to shine a light on Latin-American culture and identity. I am working on the complexities of translation, immigration and archive intervention using voice, body and text.
The recurrent themes in my pieces are: The notion of home/belonging, childhood, memories and the use of biographical stories and archives.
