Elevated Deconstruction

My work has focused on repurposing scrap materials from cars, primarily car engines. Through this collection, I aim to elevate these components—transforming something rusty and broken into wearable jewellery. By doing so, I have shifted the status of these parts, giving them meaning and placing them at the forefront of my work instead of allowing them to be discarded as scrap.I grew up working on cars with my dad, and it has always been a shared experience. With an innate need to work with my hands, I have always enjoyed repairing vehicles—fixing something can be just as satisfying as creating something new.I want to highlight that these parts are more than just scrap; they were once part of something larger, each possessing a unique form that naturally integrates into jewellery design. The materials are raw and worn down, and I want my pieces to reflect that essence.
