Push The Button
Exploring different theories of the mechanisms behind synaesthesia and what connections the brain may make between colour, shapes, and sounds. Based around survey results where people link sounds and various colourful shapes, a connection can be made for what synaesthetes may see or hear in relation to different stimuli.
In order to best present this, a fun interactive medium has been chosen. A box where people can place different coloured shapes into it and, once they press it, they can hear the associated sound linked to it. This allows the audience to see if the sound relates to their own associations or if it contrasts.
Everyone has their own experiences, so it is a fun way to spark their own thoughts on their relations to sound, colour, and shapes.
