Amelia Rennison - MA Photography

SEQ. Fashion Magazine

My creative practice centres on fashion image-making, exploring how photography can be used as both an artistic and communicative tool. I am drawn to the ways fashion imagery reflects identity, culture, and storytelling, and I approach my work with an emphasis on collaboration, experimentation, and inclusivity.

Working in photography, I create images that balance conceptual ideas with strong visual aesthetics. My practice often engages with other disciplines, and reflects my interest in how different creative voices can shape the narratives around fashion. Across my work, I am also interested in the ecological and ethical considerations of fashion and digital media, reflecting on how visual culture can engage with pressing cultural and environmental issues. My previous practice has covered a range of themes such as gender, sustainability and the roles of developing technologies such as Ai, on the fashion image, as well as the impact of the increase of social media influencers. My aim is to produce fashion imagery that is not only visually compelling but also socially engaged, offering new ways of seeing and experiencing the role of fashion today.

As part of my MA Photography project, I developed a fashion-focused magazine that brought together photography, text, and visual art from a range of contributors. This project was committed to creating space for emerging talent and alternative perspectives, challenging the exclusivity often associated with the fashion industry.
