Amy Lucy-Knight - BA (Hons) Fine Art
PORTAL
Amy Lucy-Knight’s practice revolves around the boundlessness of perception. Drawing upon concepts like the Unknown –realms beyond understanding, Flux- the constant shifting spaces of transformation , and the Sublime- Moments of awe.
Bringing code to life, she creates ‘Real-Time’ generative projected animations to construct environments of everchanging light, colour and sound.
In these installations , hypnotic visuals breathe and pulsate like living organisms.
The light permeates and distorts through layered, suspended circular forms ,
Creating a Void-like passage, a portal opens, transcending into the surrounding environment.
As you weave between each screen, you become one with the installation. Observing as it unfolds, absorbing its light and witnessing its shift.
Resonant gong sounds infiltrate the space, aligning with the visuals, to induce an altered state of perception as you absorb the vibrations.
She is interested in the concept of liminal space, situating the viewer within an expansive, seemingly endless atmosphere that invites quiet contemplation and intimacy within a setting that gestures towards the ineffable, where the boundaries between the micro and the macro begin to blur.
