"What Makes The Monster Queer?"
My work lives at the intersection of nostalgia and hyper-fixation — shaped by queerness, Indian history and mythology, pop culture, postmodernism, and a love for storytelling that’s dramatic, textured, and occasionally a little unhinged.
I explore themes of identity, resistance, and desire through a multimedia lens, often engaging multiple (if not all) senses in the process.
Across mediums, my work is bold, deeply personal, and grounded in visual languages that reflect a uniquely Indian queer gaze.
"What Makes The Monster Queer?" is a project that captures this perfectly. It details the birth and evolution of queer storytelling vis-a-vis horror movies.
It started as an illustrated report and one of the chapters was later expanded upon as a sample episode for a larger docu-series (both have been linked below).
