Charlie Mooney - MA Graphic Design and Art Direction

My priorities as an Artist and Designer are to create work that is communal, decolonial, and rooted in love. I believe art should not only reflect the self but open space for others, making visible the voices and rhythms that are too often pushed aside.

In my practice, I challenge Eurocentric design traditions and work to expand the field by drawing on geometric knowledge systems that carry deep layers of spirituality, ancestry, and rhythm. For me, this is both political and personal. To use art and design as storytelling, and to show how creativity can build belonging, connection, and resistance.

Ultimately, I want to break the rules. My art is about experimentation, imperfection, and honesty, but it is also about community. I want my work to live beyond the studio to create connections across people, cultures, and histories and to act as a force for truth, healing, and transformation.
