Clare Kirkpatrick - MA Filmmaking

MA Filmmaking

Having studied TV & Film production at college and then for my Undergraduate degree, where I achieved 1st Class Honours, I took some time between completing my Undergrad and starting my master's to gain experience in the world of working. I was fortunate to work as a production runner on ‘Animal Rescue Live: The Supervet Special’ for Blast! Films and ‘Sunderland Til I Die’for Fulwell 73.I also worked as Production Designer on New Year’s Day’ short film for Tedium Entertainment.

In my third year of undergraduate degree, I receiveda Royal Television Society: Northeast and Borders award in craft skills for my production design work on short student film ‘SHED’.

I have just completed my two-yearmaster's degree at Manchester Metropolitan, which I opted to study part-time so I could continue working around my course. Throughout my degree I have predominantly focused on Art Department within filmmaking and recently directed my own short film.

Whilst at MMU I have worked as an Events Runner, Peer Support Guide, hospitality assistant, as a GoGlobal intern, wherein I utilised photography and graphic design skills and I worked as an Art Department Trainee on BFI funded short film 'The Test' in Easter 2024.

Furthermore, I've worked on numerous short films building up my skills in prop sourcing, set dressing and learning the art of direction, I also had the opportunity to work as an art department assistant and runner on an external SODA shoot ‘Lady in Red’ and recently worked on a miniature diorama build for another student’s final project degree showcase.

Although I am currently working full-time in the corporate world, my passions still lie in filmmaking and art direction, and I hope to continue pursuing this alongside my current role.
