Ebony Kendra Davie - BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Technology
Hey I’m Ebony, a 2025 graduate in Fashion Design & Technology from Manchester Fashion Institute. I specialise in Menswear design, alongside Childrenswear design where my experience in industry resides. Nominated and shortlisted for the Childrenswear Design Award at London Graduate Fashion Week 2025, I am Top 12 in the country this year for new Graduate Childrenswear Designers. My final graduate menswear collection was shown on the ‘best of Manchester Fashion Institute’ runway show, also at London Graduate Fashion Week 2025.
My graduate Menswear collection is inspired by where I have lived my entire life, in a tiny village in the english countryside. Being truly passionate about sustainability within fashion, I wanted to highlight the importance of circularity and transparency within fashion. The full range is made from 100% natural fibre textiles and is all either naturally dyed or left in its undyed, natural colour state. This eliminated the toxic conventional dyeing process, so widely used in the wider industry, from my garments. Instead, using what is already growing around me in my local village to create my dyes. Using plants or vegetables around my home from the fields, to create the most beautiful natural dyes and colour story amongst these pieces.
The inclusion of raw Alpaca wool, straight from a local farm, vintage trims and textiles and various deadstock cow hide leathers. Mixing the idea of using local materials and the classic look of the ‘english countryside’ with a cooler, streetwear vibe has produced a collection that not only feels true to home, but to my personal design aesthetic. Creating garments that can biodegrade, not harming the planet around them, is so important to me and my values. Garments inspired by my home village, that will never harm it in the future to come.
