The CAT Club
As a documentary filmmaker, my practice is rooted in immersion. I believe the most honest stories come from within — not outside — the communities they’re about. I specialise in embedding myself in the lives, spaces, and rhythms of the people I film, building trust and familiarity that translates into an authentic cinematic experience. My background in videography and editing has equipped me with the technical fluency to operate intuitively in dynamic environments, allowing me to respond organically to the reality unfolding in front of the lens.
My recent documentary, The CAT Club, exemplifies this approach. Set in a grassroots music space, the film explores community, creativity, and connection through an observational lens. I spent extensive time with the people who make the club what it is — not just capturing performances, but the quiet, emotional moments that give them meaning. The CAT Club is not just a film about a venue; it’s a portrait of the soul of a community.
Alongside my independent work, I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with major industry players, including Lionsgate. These experiences have sharpened my storytelling instincts and strengthened my ability to deliver high-quality productions without compromising on creative integrity.
I see documentary as a medium for empathy — a tool for amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard. My goal is to continue pushing this ethos into new environments and stories, and I hope this film finds its place with audiences who believe in the power of raw, human storytelling.
