Ella Reilly - BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
Ella Reilly is a Scottish Illustrator and Animator. She takes inspiration from the landscapes and folk stories of Scotland in her work, with a focus on texture and strong colours. Most of her stories are told through animation but with Illustration elements tied in through painted backgrounds and paper puppet characters. She has recently begun to explore puppet making and plans to develop this more within her practise. In her final year she has made an animation, 'HIM' which explores a story inspired by the Ghillie Dhu, a tree spirit from Scottish folklore. As well as a publication detailing the life of her Oma, maternal grandmother, and her journey from Indonesia to the Netherlands.
