Eloise Forsyth

Eloise Forsyth - BA (Hons) Fine Art

Eloise explores the luminescent qualities of glass, using its interaction with light to evoke the unpredictability of natural sun refractions. Originally from the Yorkshire Dales, her practice is deeply informed by fleeting encounters with the natural world—ephemeral bursts of light and colour that she seeks out amid the urban landscape of Manchester. These moments, reminiscent of childhood visits to Museums and Victorian Manors, inspire a body of work that reflects the beauty of both the sublime and the everyday. Through her innovative use of glass, Eloise reveals its transformative potential using complex, ephemeral compositions; inviting viewers to experience subtle optical phenomena, slowing down thought in the process to focus directly on the eclipsing light and reconsider the material’s expressive possibilities.
Eloise will be representing Manchester School of Art as the first (BA) Fine Art student to attend New Designers this July alongside her fellow graduates.
