Craft, Play, and Connection
My practice is rooted in participatory and tactile art, exploring how making and play can support health and wellbeing. I am particularly interested in how hands-on creative processes can bring people together, spark conversations, and build a sense of belonging.
My project, Craft, Play, and Connection, focused on co-designing with elderly groups in rural Welsh communities to explore weaving as a tool for social connection. Through a creative workshop and conversations with creative facilitators, I gathered insights into the role of creativity in reducing isolation and strengthening community ties. Co-design was central to this process, ensuring that the guide I developed reflects the voices, needs, and lived experiences of those it is intended for.
At the heart of my work is a belief that art-making and play are not only creative acts, but powerful catalysts for dialogue, wellbeing, and stronger communities.
