TIDE

The conceptual ellements of documentary film photography, is what pushes my practice along. The work shown for this exhibition, focuses on the social normalities of been in a band, and my experiances along the way. Captured through my lense. The work is their, for the viewer to accomidate a narrative to each images as an almost still in a film. The work is presented simply by nails to help the viewer focus on what is the main aspect, the images. But i wished to adapt the sense of that you can move around the work and make links towards each image. I view my practice, as a way to express what i see, and almost like a memory scap book, document the happenings and also feelings at the time. Emotions tend to intervien a lot within my work, as the images can reflect my outlook on life. I only really delve into the world of Black and White film, as this is what seems safe for my craft. Taking away the colour leaves you with contrasts and misty imagery, in which for me, helps me find the details. My next steps, a big question within itself, to look forward to what isn't there yet. I wish to carry out my documentaion of my surroundings, and taking images for bands on tour/the everyday but i do want to start looking into areas, such as curator roles for galleries and so on.
