Not Another One

This daily ceramic journal is a tangible record of time, a quiet space for reflection and grounding within the shifting, often distorted ‘stages’ of grief. Each vessel represents a single day, capturing the fleeting nature of time and the truth that no two days are the same. Subtle changes mark each form, reflecting the quiet, internal movements of emotion and memory. Through clay, I seek to make time visible, its quiet weight, its passing moments. The forms are minimal, but they carry the complexity of lived experience and held emotion. Working with clay is a way of embracing time: molding it, being shaped by it, and honoring the moments now past, especially those spent with loved ones no longer here.

There is comfort in knowing that my work, enduring and solid, will outlast time’s unpredictability. While I shape the clay, it resists, asserting its own quiet will. This tension between the give and take between my intention and the material yields vessels that are imperfect, yet honest reflections of the days they were formed.

The pieces I find most beautiful are those marked by imperfection. They speak more truthfully, bearing the memory of every gesture, every moment that shaped them. Authenticity is the foundation of my practice. I do not erase or correct blemishes; to do so would be to rewrite history. Each piece stands as a testament to what was felt and experienced real, flawed, and deeply human.
