Kate Kent - MA/MSc Design For Health and Wellbeing
Fostering kintentional design: the value of access to inclusive sports kit to promote physical activity and social connectional grassroots level.
I am passionate about using design as a tool for health, well-being, and inclusivity. My MA research at Manchester Metropolitan University explores how inclusive sportswear can positively influence motivation, confidence, and participation in grassroots sport, particularly among underrepresented groups such as women, LGBTQ+ communities, older adults, and people with disabilities.
Alongside my studies, I have been working on a science-backed sleepwear project designed to aid recovery and improve rest, as well as an activewear project for the modest community, in Dubai, to support participation across different cultural needs.
Going forward, my goal is to focus on intentional, purpose-driven projects that use co-design and evidence-based research to deliver meaningful impact and foster better design for sport, health and wellbeing.
