My name is Katie Hardy, I am an illustrator based in stoke whos work revolves around observational drawings and image based story telling. My work tends to be very fluid and based on the world around me, I draw as I am out and about so I try not to be too precious about how things look so each drawing is done in quick succession- which ends up with interesting, vast pages that tell a story of my day.
The project I will be displaying here has been heavily influenced by my joy of observational drawing coupled with my need to tell a story. I find it interesting to see how the environment around me is translated by my hand into drawing; What I will do to make a static image move the way my subject is, how I might show the relationship/ interaction between two people with no prior knowledge or information to inform my art. Everyone might interpret the subtle contexts of my work differently but I find that is the most facinating part.
