Lauren McAvoy is an illustrator based in Manchester whose work centres around emotional themes such as mental health, love, and the search for belonging. Inspired by poetry, storytelling, and the natural world, her practice combines observational drawing with expressive mark-making to create richly textured imagery. She works primarily with traditional media—graphite, watercolour, and coloured pencils—exploring detail and emotion through layered surfaces. Lauren’s illustrations offer a personal yet relatable narrative, aiming to visually communicate complex emotional experiences with sensitivity and depth.
