Lucy Evans

Lucy Evans - BA (Hons) Fine Art

Refusing to be defined by one medium, Lucy Evans is an artist whose work leans into the unpredictable materiality of glass to explore a wealth of themes centralised around the human condition and its fragility.

Driven by a curiosity for analogue processes and a pursuit of skill, her work explores the transience of thought, where the forgotten meets the remembered, and absence and presence converge.

In a quest to abate her fear of loss, she pulls inspiration from geological metamorphoses to broaden her perspective of time's fluidity and the shifting nature of existence. Fossilising her own experiences, the resulting topographies preserve memories like bones caught in amber.
