Lucy Godden - BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
Lucy Godden is a self taught oil painter who works with themes of female vulnerability and the perverse sexualisation of the vulnerable. Her work reflects her experience of being born severely sight impaired and living with a disability as a young woman where misogyny and discrimination still remains as a problem in many women’s lives. As well as this, she also takes a more lighthearted approach to interrogating todays youth culture. Photography plays a vital role in her practise where she both documents her day-to-day life and creates curated imagery as a thematic, conceptual response.
Lucy has displayed work at Riot! In Manchester and has worked with clients such as Crown Paints, M&S, River Island, Tesco, WGSN, Interstoff and LiP!
