Beauty of Introspection
At the heart of my practice is the belief that beauty and function should coexist. Everyday objects play a significant role in our lives, and I seek to create pieces that elevate daily rituals rather than diminish them. My work embraces an experimental approach, resulting in functional and colourful forms that people can use, converse over, share, and experience-both individually and collectively. My work is deeply rooted in process, both the process of making and the internal process of self-discovery. The more I engage with clay, the more I uncover its capabilities and, in turn, my own.
I love expressing and exploring the duality of clay: its ability to be both expressive and utilitarian. It reflects my ongoing exploration into the essence of functional objects and my own creative potential. We should not have to sacrifice beauty in the objects we use every day - rather, we should embrace it as an integral part of the experience. This process as a whole allowed me to grow and flourish, ultimately unlocking my fullest potential inside and outside of the workshop.
The name of the pieces comes from the idea that none of this wouldve been possible without me looking within myself to find deeper meaning with everything that I do. This process as a whole allowed me to grow and flourish, ultimately unlocking my fullest potential inside and outside of the workshop.
