The main inspiration of this collection comes from the ballet-inspired movie Black Swan, which uses ballet-core elements and incorporates some Renaissance elements and concepts such as some three-dimensional flowers. The meaning I want to express is that we are always wandering between the self and the superego. We want to surpass our current state, but we also want to maintain the status quo and do what we are familiar with. However, we are still struggling in our hearts and still want to break the mirror to surpass ourselves. Just like the heroine in the movie can easily and gracefully perform the white swan dance perfectly, but when she breaks through herself and performs the black swan, she suffers because she does not achieve the expected effect. So my final major project mainly wants to express that women should have the courage to accept different aspects of themselves, even imperfect ones, to have the courage to love, and to try to break through the mirror and create a new self! What I want to contribute is that fashion is diverse and can integrate different elements together to show the meaning of different aspects of the story.
