Expression through various media

This project explores the concept of large scale expressive pieces that evoke different emotions as well as the viewer needing to hyper focus on small details of my work to appreciate it as a whole. Due to the tools that i use, they have a lot of visual texture helped by my use of colour combinations. The feelings of playfulness and a care free attitude is present in my work, combined with a loose documentational side as well as attention to detail and the use of purposeful paint strokes adds a nice yin and yang to my work.

The context for this project explores having fun with different media’s, reverting back to ways as a child, unlocking nostalgia through mark making and getting messy with no boundaries.

In the future i want to curate an immersive and hands on experience when people come to view my work. This is because i enjoy watching and seeing what comes out of a collaborative project due to the fact that everyone has different thoughts and feelings on the same topic. Exploring these human differences to bring people together is fascinating to me.

Breaking down the normal settings of a ‘gallery’ where you are condition to not touch anything and just look, but with my work i want people to be inspired and apply their thoughts and feelings onto a collaborative piece of their own, contributing to my work at the same time.

This project supports my ambition to work with like minded people and create collaborative pieces with different groups of communities and lifestyles such as people with disability, older generations and school children too. This is important to me because in the society we live in, art has been put to the bottom of the list of importance in education even though it does a lot more good than people think.
