Olivia North - MA Graphic Design and Art Direction

I capture snippets of memory, moments of the mundane made beautiful by art and design. My work is based in cyclical systems of working, both in my own creative practice and as an instructional framework. This allows the encapsulation of the ephemeral while simultaneously mirroring its ever-changing nature in design workflow itself.

My showcase presents an experiment I completed with technical information, particularly medical paraphernalia. I reworked this material through different processes and some of my results are shown in this collection. Throughout this Master's, I have been drawn to these seemingly 'mundane' stimuli, so I decided to pursue this interest and develop an archive of personal 'debris' - honouring the kinds of objects one might find in the bottom of their bag. I have invited others to complete the same workflow and contribute their results to create a collective, and evolving archive.
