Hantu
Rosie Hutabarat is a British Indonesian Illustrator and Animator who explores the themes of self-love and the complexities of human emotions, combining elements of both her cultural heritage, as well as traditional and digital textures to create ethereal, thought-provoking imagery. She believes in the importance of finding beauty in the mundane, particularly during times of difficulty. By taking inspiration from the natural world, she creates whimsical concepts that offer moments of serenity and emotional connection with the viewers.
Hantu is a wordless comic which takes inspiration from the folklore of Bali, Indonesia. Whilst enjoying her holiday with her father and brother, a young girl winds up in a dream-like world all alone. She encounters a mysterious friend who will help guide her through this unfamiliar land and provide her with the support and courage she needs for her to find her way back home.
