Rosie Wellings - BA (Hons) Filmmaking

Rosie Wellings is a filmmaker and moving image artist whose most recent work focuses on the body, trauma and the natural world through experimental and sensory techniques. Her work is rooted experiences of women and feminism through experimental sound design and non-linear structures, aiming to create emotionally resonant and immersive viewings.

Her recent independent graduate project, Pain reclaimed, is a dual-screen installation reflecting on embodied female experiences. The work includes verbatim testimonies shared anonymously by women alongside bodily sounds recorded through a stethoscope.

She is particularly interested in pushing boundaries between documentary and artist film, with a focus on representing real world issues through abstraction and poetic techniques. Rosie is keen to develop work across film, installation and sound-based media whilst collaborating with fellow artists, filmmakers and researchers to enrich her process.
