Ruby Cronin - BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
I create nature-inspired printed textiles enhanced with 3D printing and digital technologies, integrating AR to explore immersive and innovative design experiences.
As a printed textile designer, my work is deeply rooted in the organic beauty of nature. I find endless inspiration in natural forms, from the intricate textures of leaves to the delicate formations of flower petals. Beyond traditional textile design, I push the boundaries of materiality by integrating 3D printing techniques to add embellishments and tactile depth. This fusion of technology and craft allows me to create textiles that are both visually dynamic and physically engaging. I am particularly drawn to the interplay of surface and structure, using 3D elements to transform textiles into multi-dimensional experiences.
