Queens of the Market” is my love letter to the resilient, graceful, and powerful African market women whose daily lives inspire me. These women move through bustling markets wrapped in layers of cloth, balancing goods on their heads with an elegance that transforms the ordinary into something extraordinary. Through bold silhouettes, basket-inspired curves, and rich materials like Adire, raffia, and wool, I reimagine their strength and beauty in sculptural garments that celebrate heritage and contemporary African identity. Each look honours the unspoken authority these women hold in their communities, queens in their own right, carrying history, culture, and survival with pride.
