Scarlett Benson Hollis - BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
I am a textile artist specialising in machine knitting, working primarily with Dubied and domestic knitting machines. My practice is rooted in the exploration of heritage and tradition, drawing on cultural narratives, historical references, and personal identity to inform my textile work.
Through a deep engagement with materials and techniques, I create knitted textiles that celebrate craftsmanship and storytelling. My work often incorporates rich, bold colour palettes and intricate pattern motifs that are contextually driven, with each design element carefully chosen to resonate with themes of ancestry, memory, and place.
Whether creating wearable pieces, large-scale textile installations, or intimate samples, I aim to evoke a sense of connection between the past and the present, honouring tradition while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.
