Sophia is an animator and illustrator whose practice flows between digital and traditional mediums.
Unbound by a fixed set of materials, she selects her tools carefully, guided by the needs of each project. Her recent ventures into riso printing and 3D printing have become an extension of her online avatar. An artistic persona deeply rooted in her fascination with Japanese tradition, culture, and identity. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences and a rich palette of colours, allowing emotion and memory to shape her creative output.
Away from the screen, Sophia also finds joy in hands-on craft practices such as bookbinding and screen printing. Her handmade prismatic journals are not only a creative outlet, but also a conscious effort to minimise paper waste and stay grounded in tactile making.
