Mushroom Frames
I began making these mushroom tiles as a way to slow myself down and be more present. In doing so, I hope to invite others to do the same. Each tile represents a moment of observation, a celebration of the strange and subtle beauty that emerges when we take the time to notice. Mushrooms are quiet, humble organisms. They appear overnight in overlooked corners, under leaves, along tree roots, never demanding attention. Yet, when you stop and truly look, they’re full of texture, character, and quiet wonder.
I wanted to capture that in a way that felt both intimate and repeatable. That’s why I chose to work in tiles, with each one acting as a small, focused frame, almost like a gateway to the natural world. This work is about paying attention. It’s about reconnecting with nature through its smallest, often missed details. I hope these pieces serve as a gentle reminder to slow down, take a breath, and notice what’s right in front of you.
