ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡ’ΙΑ ’Η ΘΑΝΑΤΟΣ; Freedom or Death.

With a background in graphic design, I’ve enjoyed being able to take my compositional ideas and apply them to a fashion context. My graphics work consists of using found materials and objects to create artworks inspired by the likes of Robert Rauschenberg, iconography, pop culture references and an exciting use of colours. This graphic ability is something I feel as though has really benefited me coming into my final year.

For my final collection, I wanted to explore my dual heritage, being half Greek and half English. Through this body of work, I was able to explore my heritage my researching into traditional folk and military garments. I was then able to link this back to my knowledge of English streetwear, militaria and generic clothing.

I was able to become closer in touch with my heritage; something that I am very proud of. The collection I produced uses a wide variety of techniques and different exciting materials like latex, and I feel as though it is grounded in tradition, steering away from technology to produce a refreshing twist on classic concepts.
