Adam Charlesworth- BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
My name is Adam Charlesworth. I am a socially engaged artist working to advocate for and connect people to their local ecosystems. My work responds to the well-being of our biosphere, and aims to dismantle, reconstruct and reframe cultural narratives about our place within it.
Connection to communities is essential to my creative practice, and as such my practice blurs the lines of what is considered art. I want to create beautiful meaningful things, and those things could be visual, but they could also be moments, experiences or contributions to the life I find myself surrounded with- human or otherwise.
While most of my work in this degree show is about connecting to nature through trees, I also came up with and helped to create 'The Sleepy Zine': a socially engaged project that I collaborated on with 4 of my peers.
"A zine big enough to sleep in, its sheets are filled with work gathered from nearby and afar through open calls and workshops. We invite visitors to snuggle into the zine and explore its pages."
We plan to tour the zine!
