SkinDex
SkinDex is a wellbeing and retail space for people with skin conditions, offering expert personalised treatments, tailored advice, and opportunities to explore skincare solutions. Inspired by eczema patterns, the project concept of "Patina" reflects the beauty of skin’s evolving surface through natural transformation. Visitors can also test ingredients and formulate their own products to support their skin’s needs while avoiding potential irritants.
The space's design features organic shapes and forms that reflect the concept of Patina, while also encouraging stress reduction through smooth edges and muted colours. This can be seen throughout the building in areas such as the Skin Apothecary Lab, Patina Nook for patch testing, the Ritual Shop, the Pause Retreat, and the Barrier Clinic. These areas also all follow their own colour scheme to better help with wayfinding.
The design brings the concept of Patina to life by combining function, sensitivity, and aesthetic coherence within a calming and supportive environment.
