Eclipse

ECLIPSE is a proposal for a hybrid hospitality and workspace environment designed through the principles of neuro-inclusive design. The project responds to the growing need for spaces that support individuals experiencing overstimulation, irregular routines, and alternative ways of living and working.

Using darkness as a design tool, Eclipse creates calm, controlled environments that offer relief from the intensity of everyday life. The space is designed to support a range of users, from those who feel more productive during evening hours to individuals who may struggle with daily routines and sensory overload.

As a flexible hub, Eclipse allows users to choose how they engage with the space through a variety of environments, from quiet, private areas to more social and interactive settings. Variations in light, sound, and spatial enclosure enable a personalised response to individual sensory needs, encouraging both productivity and rest.

Materiality and lighting play a key role in shaping the atmosphere, with darker tones and controlled illumination creating a sense of comfort, focus, and security. The contrast between dark and light spaces allows users to transition gradually between different sensory conditions.

At its core, Eclipse seeks to challenge the stigma surrounding neurodiversity by demonstrating that inclusive design is not specialised design, but good design. It is a space where difference is not simply accommodated but embraced, ensuring that whatever your needs, there is a space for you.
