Daisy Arnold- BA (Hons) Graphic Design
My name is Daisy Arnold, and I am a graphic designer who has recently completed my final year studying Graphic Design at the Manchester School of Art. Throughout my studies, I have developed a strong interest in editorial and publication design, particularly projects that combine thoughtful visual storytelling with concept-driven outcomes. I enjoy exploring how typography, image-making, layout, and material choices can work together to communicate ideas in engaging and meaningful ways. My practice often focuses on creating immersive visual experiences that encourage audiences to connect emotionally with the subject matter. I am especially drawn to concept-led projects that allow me to experiment with art direction, narrative structures, and unconventional design approaches. Through this process, I have built a practice that values both research and experimentation, using design as a tool to explore ideas and create impactful communication. Alongside publication design, I also enjoy developing visual identities and creative campaigns that extend across both print and digital platforms. I am constantly inspired by contemporary culture, art, photography, and human interaction, which continue to shape my creative approach and influence the way I think about design.
Much of my work is driven by themes surrounding empathy, belonging, and the human condition, as these ideas strongly connect to my personal values and interests as a designer. I am particularly interested in researching human behaviours, emotions, relationships, and shared experiences, and translating these observations into visual narratives that encourage reflection and connection with an audience. My creative process often begins with in-depth research and experimentation, allowing me to explore how visual communication can evoke emotion and create meaningful dialogue. I enjoy working across different mediums and experimenting with imagery, composition, colour, typography, and materiality to develop outcomes that feel both thoughtful and immersive. Through my projects, I aim to create work that not only communicates a concept clearly but also leaves a lasting emotional impact. I value design that feels honest, human, and accessible, and I strive to produce outcomes that invite curiosity, empathy, and engagement from viewers while reflecting a strong conceptual foundation and distinctive visual identity.
