Florence Newport- BA (Hons) Fashion Communcation
ROAM
I am a Fashion Communication student with a strong interest in digital storytelling, brand communication, and PR. My work explores how fashion can be used as a platform for conversation, empowerment, and cultural engagement, combining creative thinking with strategic communication.
My final major project Roam, is a campaign developed for retailer size? that introduces a new streetwear brand to their portfolio through a feminist lens. The campaign challenges traditional representations of women within streetwear culture and the wider fashion industry, celebrating freedom, individuality, and female community. Through a multi-platform approach, Roam combines visual storytelling, digital content, and experiential elements to create an authentic narrative that encourages women to confidently occupy spaces that have historically been male-dominated. All creative elements were informed by thorough research from a range of sources, to fully understand current consumer needs and industry context. The project reflects my interest in purpose-driven campaigns that engage audiences while addressing wider social and cultural conversations.
Throughout my studies, I have developed skills across creative direction, content creation, branding, event concepts, and editorial communication. I have continued to develop my photography and graphic design skills by learning adobe software to create industry standard work. As I begin my career, I am seeking opportunities within public relations, events, and fashion journalism, where I can combine creativity, strategy, and storytelling to create engaging experiences and content. My ambition is to contribute to an industry that values both innovation and inclusivity, using communication as a tool to inform, inspire, and connect communities.
